Padres dig deep in the bullpen and come up with no answers.

Nobody in the NL West is having a spectacular season. In fact quite a few teams in the league are sitting neck-and-neck with the San Diego Padres and LA Dodgers.

The San Diego Padres have been doing pretty well at the plate but are still getting outscored about half the time. Mike Cameron, Ben Johnson and Khalil Greene all homered in today’s unfortunate loss to the Seattle Mariners. The Padres loss can be attributed to many factors. There was an unlucky error committed by Mike Thompson in the third inning and between him and Jon Adkins the Mariners managed five earned runs.

I may be wrong, but I think San Diego could benefit from shifting their focus to pitching and improving our defense all around. We know we can score five or more runs in a game. The trick is keeping our opponent from doing the same. Our pitching has not been impressive lately. What changes or efforts should this team make to improve our skill set and win some games?
